Acids and alkalis must not be mixed as a disposal shortcut. Neutralisation is a treatment process that can release heat or hazardous reaction products and needs proper controls. We identify packaged stock, bulk liquids and contaminated residues separately, with compatible containment and a receiving route established for the actual composition.

Unknown acidic mixtures

Existing process information can help establish what an acidic waste contains without casual testing or opening packages. If that evidence is inadequate, further appropriate assessment is needed before movement. We keep the uncertainty explicit rather than choose a convenient name for the paperwork. Container compatibility and condition also remain relevant while the receiving facility considers the material’s treatment requirements.
